We all need to be encouraged to participate with today. Rebecca and I often call today the “what is.” The truth is, the “is” is all there is. Yesterday is a thing of memory whose effects are felt in the “is.” Tomorrow is a mystery whose “is” we can only make an intelligent guess at. There is only one was and will be: Jesus. We are creatures of the is.
