Wednesday Prayer Station: Confession

Date September 23, 2009

For this station: you will need a glob (*measurement of your choosing) of Playdough (or similar substance…I find my boss’ toupee a suitable replacement)

“If we confess our sins to God, God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.” 1 John 1: 9.

“The confession of evil works is the first beginning of good works.” St. Augustine

Those things that you are not proud of.

Those things that you are ashamed for anyone to know.

Those things that you pray remain in darkness.

Take a lump of playdough.
Use it to symbolize those things.
Shape those things.
Make the form of those things.
And then smash itpulverize it.

Set it down and forget about what meaning you gave it.

Those are things that God has already forgiven.

Not because he isn’t thinking about you.

It’s because God can’t stop thinking about you.

Prayer:
God, thank you for your never-ending love.
Your forgiveness is too wonderful for me.

Take a moment and live into the fact that you are forgiven.

Enjoy it.

Smile about it.

Breathe it in.

Because of Jesus, you are free.
